The Early Childhood Program at Zion Lutheran School is designed to help children learn that they are loved by God and that He has a plan for each child’s life. The basic premise of early childhood education is that children learn through play. Our wonderfully equipped playground overlooks scenic country pastureland where the children get a feel of God’s awesome creation. In addition to daily religion classes, there are both weekly chapel services and monthly Little Lamb chapel services for preschool and kindergarten.
Zion’s program for 4-year-old preschoolers is designed to prepare students for kindergarten by introducing the alphabet and beginning math skills. Social skills, that will strengthen each child’s achievement in the kindergarten classroom, are developed through a variety of classroom activities.
The preschool classroom boasts an expansive (1020 square feet) floor space allowing ample room for preschoolers to explore the 8-10 centers and enjoy circle time and other group activities.
Zion Lutheran School offers parents a choice of either the 3-day (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) or 5-day Kindergarten program. Identical material is covered in each of these uniquely structured classes, where curriculum includes science, social studies, language arts, math, P.E., music, computer classes, and more! Field trips round out the early childhood program and provide kindergarteners with real-world experiences.
