Did you know that Lutheran Braille Workers provides the Bible and other devotional materials in 35 languages free-of-charge to people who are blind and visually impaired?
Providing the materials without cost to the recipients is made possible by the 7000 volunteers working in 200 work centers. A member, who serves on the LBW board of Lutheran Braille Workers Inc. based in Yucaipa, CA, states that in a given year, LBW has sent more than 150,000 Braille volumes and 87,000 volumes of large print materials. You can learn more about this exciting ministry at http://www.lbwinc.org
Work center #146, located here at Zion, has three groups of volunteers using the Braille facilities and meeting in the multi-purpose room. The day group meets on Mondays a 1:15 PM, with the exception of the second Monday when the Faith group from Faith Lutheran Church meets at the same time and place. The evening group meets on the third Tuesday at 7:00PM.
Should you choose to become a volunteer in bringing Christ to Those Who Live in Darkness, you will be heartily welcomed and greatly appreciated in any one of the groups listed.
