Sunday morning at Zion: It is a word we use all the time.  We speak of it in reference to food, to activities and to people, too.  The word is "Love" and in the Gospel Lesson Jesus talks about His love, His Father's love and the expectation to pass love along.  Join us Sunday morning for worship, study, fellowship and encouragement as the sermon looks at nine verses in John 15 under the theme "That's What Love Looks Like!"  Pastor John
 
Sunday evening at Zion  - NEW SERMON SERIES. This week Pastor Jim will being a new sermon series; “Going deep with Jesus!” based on 1 John. We often say we want to know Jesus better, come find out how – how to live a Christian life of substance and joy! Bring your family, friends and your Bible for this time of festive and casual worship!
 
Coming events - May 20 – 1212 Lunch at 12:00, a Town Hall meeting at 1:00 p.m. in gym (To discuss Zion’s current financial situation and the proposed 2012-2013 Budget), Voter’s Assembly 2:00 in church. Pick up an agenda as you exit.
 
Zion Lutheran School Kindergarten through 8th grade will present "Once Upon a Parable" Thursday, May 17 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gymnasium. The musical tells a story of the life and ministry of Jesus by telling stories of His parables in drama and song.  Hamburger and Hot Dog Meal will begin at 5:00 p.m. with lunchroom receiving the proceeds.  Presales only by Thursday, May 10.  PLEASE INDICATE THE MEAL YOU WANT and how many of each (See attachment – There has been a price reduction on the meal!)
 
Church Under the Bridge---help is needed beginning at 6:30 a.m. in the lunchroom.

Caring Place ministry opportunity: We are in need of volunteers to help us sort food received from the postal food drive.  Last year’s food drive received 21,000 pounds of food.  They are hoping to break that record this year.  We are in need volunteers on Monday, May 14th, Tuesday, May 15th, Wednesday, May 16th and Thursday, May 17th.  We have two shifts.  The morning shift is 9:00am to 12:30 and the afternoon shift is 12:30 to 4:00pm.  If you can help please let me know what day and shift you plan on attending.
