Music & Drama
Through Zion's music and drama programs, students are taught to appreciate music and the basic elements of music education in all grade levels. Students in the third and fourth grades learn to play a recorder which will help them progress into the band program which begins in fourth grade. Vocal performance, drama, and dance are a strong point of our music curriculum.
Under the leadership of Music and Drama Director, Mariann Brown, students audition for and present two musicals each year. Recently we have presented Willie Wonka, Jr., Grease, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, with rave reviews from students, parents, and community members. In addition, our students use their musical talents at an annual Christmas program and at nursing homes and other community functions.
