A New Member Class meets Sunday during the Bible Class hour, 9:30 a.m., in Room #22. Plan to attend if you are interested in joining Zion Lutheran Church, transferring from another Lutheran church or would like to review teachings of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.
The Treasurer Report/Update ending in September has been emailed to the congregation. Copies are available in the Narthex.
WURSTBRATEN SIGN-UP Posters for Donation and Volunteer Work Schedules are available Sunday outside the front entrance to the church. Publicity Posters are also available. Indicate “WURSTBRATEN” on any cash donations so they may be correctly counted.
All Wurstbraten committee co-chairs will meet 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 17 in the Fellowship Hall.
Wurstbraten Woodcutters – Meet Saturday, October 27 at 8:00 a.m. at Dale’s in Walburg. We will load pre-cut wood at Matt Brown’s place in Twin Creeks Farms. No need for saws just gloves and strong backs. Refreshments will be provided. Contact is Roy Arldt 512-863-8680.
THE TECH TEAM NEEDS YOU! As part of our Worship Enhancement Project, we will begin using a new lyric/video presentation software called Pro Presenter. Duties of the soundboard runner and word runner will split into two positions. We will need more volunteers willing to join the Tech Team on a rotation basis for Sunday services at both 8a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services. The Zion Building Committee will facilitate a Town Hall meeting to present the schematic design to the congregation. We are excited to share these drawings and gather your input so that we can refine the vision and move forward in this process. Haiti Mission Support – Each person that comes to the Haiti eyeglass clinics receives much needed eye drops. Donations are needed. Drops can be purchased at Walmart or Dollar Tree for $1.00. OR...shop in Zion’s hallway Sundays until October 14. Purchase drops for $1.00. Also, the Haiti mission team visits elderly who have little or no support. Hygiene kits are needed. For those that picked up bags, return them by THIS Sunday.

School News - We are pleased to announce the birth of Miss Elsie Mae to Mr. and Mrs. Fraker Monday, October 8! She is a beautiful gift from God. Mr. Fraker will be taking two weeks off with paternity leave, and Mrs. Audrey Stoneburner is the long-term sub during his time away. Take time to congratulate the Fraker family. Volunteers Still Needed: Hallways monitors before school begins; Crosswalk safety personnel; Greeter/supervisor, on occasion, at either the main entrance or the gym drop-off doors.
October 15 - Zion night at Chipotle - Take a break from cooking and meet us at Chipotle from 5-9pm. Mention that you are there for Zion at the register or bring an attached flyer with you! Thank you for your support of this 8th grade DC Trip fundraiser!
Join us for the School Fall Carnival Friday, October 26! Wear a costume and Trunk or Treat from 5:30-6:00 p.m. Games and activities from 6:00-9:00. Food and refreshments available. The Caring Place blue food collection barrels are on campus until October 27. Help TCP Food Pantry assist families in need through Thanksgiving, Christmas and beyond.
