Children & Youth

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but sent an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12)

Children's Ministry- Age 3 (by September 1st and fully potty trained) through 5th grade
Jr. High - 6th through 8th Grade
High School - 9th through 12th Grade

Zion Youth Ministry exists to serve both parents and children. We serve parents by coming alongside them in their effort to teach their children sound biblical truth with the ultimate desire that the Lord will give them new life and a heart to serve Him. We serve children by providing a safe and enjoyable environment where the Word of God is taught faithfully, and Christ is exalted.

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

Save the Date! This year we will have VBS June 27th-30th from 5:30 to 8:00 PM and our theme is 'Monumental- Celebrating God's Greatness!' This is open to age 3 (and potty trained) to incoming 5th graders.

3rd Grade Bibles

Zion presents all church and school member 3rd graders with a new Bible in September of each year. Each child's Bible is personalized by church and school staff members and their family members before being presented to them in our Bible presentation ceremony. Once they have received their Bible, Ms. Rachel becomes their Bible Buddy for the next year. Bible recipients will receive monthly encouragement, Bible reading plans and journaling prompts to help them stay motivated and excited to be in God's Word every day.

Zion's Children's and Youth Ministry team host Family Movie Nights in our Worship Center 3-4 times a year. Everyone is invited to join us for family friendly movies on the big screen. Bring your pillows and blankets- we provide the snacks!

Operation Christmas Child

Jr. High Youth

Our Zion Junior High Youth Ministry is a fun and safe place for students grades 6-8 to grow as in their identity in Christ while exploring their ideas, values, and faith. Whether we are coming together for a monthly hang time at the church, gearing up for a retreat or summer mission trip, or working through curriculum each week during our Sunday morning Connection Hour, it is our goal to provide our teens many opportunities to know, grow, serve, share, and worship Christ.

Sunday Morning Connection Hour

During the school year, all 6th-8th graders are welcome to join us Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:30 a.m. as we grow in our faith through lessons, videos, and games.

Monthly Hang Times

JHYM offers monthly hangouts for fun and fellowship. Keep an eye on the calendar for dates and times!

Special Events

Junior High Youth have two opportunities to spend time in fellowship and service. We offer a fun weekend Winter Retreat and a Summer Mission Trip opportunity.

Confirmation allows youth an opportunity to take a closer look at the inner workings of our faith and the basic tenets of the Lutheran Church. Classes begin with a parent/student meeting in October. Confirmand classes take place throughout students' 7th and 8th grade school year and Confirmation takes place in the Spring. For more information or to join the next class of confirmands, please contact the church office.
